I used Help Centre Live for little while - found it a very good program considering it is free.

Then I upgraded to another Help Desk program, called Auracle Support. However, it is not in Fantastico, mainly because you have to pay for it.

I find Auracle great!

Crafty Syntax is pretty good, free, easy to install from the tarball. Lots of cool features for online as well as offline help.

I like Cerberus Helpdesk! It's the most powerfull support solution that contains everything that you need. Staff management, ticket system, etc.

It's even free for one email address! If you want more you will have to pay, I must say it isen't cheap.

For more information visit their site:

Is cerberus helpdesk free? I look at downloads so I'm guessing it's free.
Are there anymore free suppot systems out there?

Members usually just rather post support on forums.

I use OTRS (http://otrs.org/)

It can be fully email driven and/or web driven. Simple to setup and very easy for customers to use. It's also easily skinnable so it suits your look.

osTicket is one of the best support ticket systems i've ever used, and that is totaly free, it alows you to link it to email so you don't need to give support staff email accounts and redirections.

cerberus helpdesk is not free, they have free trial version which has very lesser feature.

Also check kayako -- http://www.kayako.com/ The earlier company where I worked used it. But this is also not free.

kayako is by far the best but it's very expensive. if you can't afford kayako that's becuase you have a small company (probably just one person giving support) in which case the free version of Cerebrus Helpdesk will do you fine :)

Cerberus is free for a single support email address, and it is very good. I've set it up and run it for a company with a very busy helpdesk, we were using all the features it provides and wanted more. Some of the features it lacked I wrote addon modules for, others we just managed without.

However, for a small hosting company it seems a little overkill. I'm currently using Hesk (http://www.phpjunkyard.com/free-helpdesk-software.php) at two companies, and it works quite nicely. Support staff need absolutely no training, and are happy to start using it immediately rather than spend two days learning Cerberus.

I used help centre live for a while but then
i couldn't be bothered using it asfor the way the system works
eats up time so fast so i changed to basic emailing :)
