Okay, i've got a Linux Centos VPS, And i want to run wine on it to run 1 windows program.
I asked through Support tickets, They said it was "Possible" But you would have to research it for yourself. Does anyone know how... Maybe i could do it through Shell access... Anyone?
P.S (www.winehq.com Wine site)
what windows application are you wanting to run? likely there is an OSS solution.

I wanted to run a Mini game server thing. its called a Habbo retro server.
You run the exe, Specify the ports in a .ini file and you run it and leave it going.
has it been reported to run properly under wine? wine networking support is sketchy.

Bumped. Read last reply from me.
my advice is not to waste time with wine as it is not a real solution in a server environment. However, if you read the wine manual and install it you can launch exe's in only a few minutes. so, a small investment to give it a shot. I paid for the commercial version of wine a few months ago to test it out. It works pretty well but I had so many application crashes under it, I couldn't see using it in a server scenario. the purpose of using unix is because its more stable.

I tried running Wine on my VPS, but it seems that Wine works terrible in Rapid. One, so I decided to forget about Wine, because I needed an X server, and all that non-sense.
what does terrible mean? how much cpu time / mhz (monitored in our website) was it using? memory? what is the overall problem which makes it terrible.

I never tried it, just support told me that it wouldn't run correctly and it would have poor performance.
