Hi guys,

I just finished moving my sites to RapidVPS and now my sites are slower than before. It's taking 20 seconds to load a page that should only take 3 or 4.

The site is buyavahome.com.

My VPS has more free RAM and less CPU usage than with my last hoster, so I expect that it's not the VPS itself, but maybe an Apache or MySQL config that didn't get moved over.

How can I troubleshoot this? Do I need to open a ticket?

Hi, here is a good way to narrow down the problem.

-if you put a simple html file that says 'hello' on the web, does it take 20 secs?

based on that, there are avenues to dig deeper into where the load time is coming from. I have diagnosed problems like this for customrs in the past and it could be due to a wide array of things. sometimes i find customer scripts connecting to remote mysql databases, loading slow ad scripts, or otherwise relying on remote services to build the page.

Hi, I chcked out the node you are hosted on to see if there could be a performance problem there. its not the case, this node is looking at 70%+ idle cpu, 3.5gb mem free for disk cache, and avg loads less then 5.

I would say it is likely some some bottleneck in your dynamic script.

Cool... I turned off the RSS module and things picked right up.

Thanks for the help!
