Can't access website?

For the last two hours i have been unable to access my website via a browser. I can ping my server with both the IP address as well as the host name (so i know its not a dns issue) -- I have tried accessing my site with IE, FF and Safari, but I just get the standard 'can't connect' error.

The website has been working fine for the last couple of weeks, and i havn't changed anything on my server for at least 3 days -- What gives?

I tried to fix this issue by restarting my server -- but after doing so i cant even ping it by IP address. I have opened a support ticket for this, i'll post any updates here.

at the registrar (godaddy) :
Domain servers in listed order:
NS148165.RAPIDVPS.NET
NS15159.RAPIDVPS.NET

that node is badly ailing; crashed completely just a while ago. I have a vps on there; it needs attention.

Those hosts respond to ping but services aren't running, except for ssh

The problem is not DNS -- the website has functioned perfectly for the past few weeks with those nameservers.

Either way, the issue is moot: My vps was slackware, and after restarting it wouldnt pick up the IP addresses -- a problem that Rick couldnt fix.

Hopefully my experience will serve as a warning to others -- don't use a slackware vps! Rick has told me that this will not be fully functional or fully supported by RapidVPS.
