Hi!

Maybe you get what you pay for, but my Rapid. One VPS is slower than anything I've ever seen. It actually takes time downloading text over my SSH connection. In other words, if i type "ls /" at the console, it takes 5-10 seconds executing/downloading those 10-20 or so items. I have absolutely no traffic to the server besides my SSH session, and I haven't installed any service besides the preinstalled LAMP enviroment.
My top usage of the CPU is 5.4 MHz and I currently use approx. 20 MB of RAM.
I've tried rebooting and installing.
It doesn't matter if I connect from work or at home.

Can it be that RapidVPS has written all their reviews themself around the internet, cause I really can't see how anyone could be satisfied when the server is mind-blowing slow when it's not even used.. At all.....

If anyone would be as nice as too look into this, the VPS is registrered on the same email as this forumaccount.

You should definitely submit a ticket for best response.

(I keep telling myself :) )

Submit a ticket - I've got 4 Rapid. One's and they are perfectly fine and speedy... I've got two as fileservers (with rsync) and one as a load-balancer for the fileservers...

If you submit a ticket for this please could you keep this thread updated with how it goes?

I have had a Rapid One for just over a week and I have been seeing the same problems. Most of the time it is ok, but sometimes it is annoying - the worst example being nearly 20s for the output of ls! (In a directory with about 3 entries...)

From what I have seen I don't believe it to be a network problem or memory swapping or CPU usage. I haven't done any proper testing but it feels like disk access lag.

It's working fine right now so I can't post any real numbers!

Except for this one issue, I'm very impressed with the whole thing.

Hi, thanks for posting in the forum. The storage unit you are on had a serious problem yesterday. This caused average svctim and await to be 100x what they normally are. Check it after tomorrow and into the future, you will experience normal io performance.

Actually it's been slow more than just yesterday, but now however it suddenly feels much faster, so I'll be quiet for now. Thank you!:)
